Career Counseling

Schedule a career counseling appointment with Eric Rutberg

career counseling Eric has been practicing psychotherapy and career counseling since 1991. He holds a Bachelors degree in Anthropology from the New School For Social Research in New York City and a Masters degree in Psychology from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. His license is LPC # CC2077 from the State of Maine (Mental Health License Verification). "Understanding a person's background and their context for perceiving life is, to me, critical to the counseling process."

Eric specializes in helping others to identify their own strengths, gain insight into the underlying issues and regain control over their lives. Whether you are struggling with internal issues (anxiety or low self-esteem for instance), or if you feel your external world is troublesome (job counseling issues, parenting, and relationships in general), Eric will certainly be a terrific resource. He is an experienced therapist and cares greatly about a person's emotional health. Eric has a face to face private practice located at 233 Village View Street, Wilton, Maine 04294. Phone: (207) 645-9700.

It is common, especially in industrial cultures, for people to have to change their career paths several times in the course of their lives. This can be an extremely disruptive event for an individual and their family. Career counseling can help greatly with this transition and this is a particular strength of Eric Rutberg, M.A. Eric is competent to assist with career testing which can pinpoint a person's area of competence. Finding the most emotionally and financially rewarding career is the hallmark of competent career counseling. This can be extremely difficult for the general population who is confronted by a staggering amount of possible career choices. A therapist's job in this area is to have a good working knowledge of the type of jobs available and the qualifications needed for each of them.

The stress resulting from a disruption of employment is rated as one of the greatest a person can experience. In fact losing a job is rated in the top 5 most stressful events a person can live through. Experiencing a death, a geographical move, and a loss of romantic love are the only stressors that rival a job termination or career change. Depression can result if this is left untreated. To find out more about depression you can check out our Library and Mental Health Articles. To reduce stress you can also try our Hypnosis Audio Tapes, CDs and MP3s.
