Welcome to my internet office. 

My name is Lauren Trecosta.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with 13+ years of experience.

Let me tell you a little bit about my education, my work history, and myself.  I have certifications as an elementary/middle school teacher (M.Ed.), an elementary school counselor (M.A.), and as a Licensed Professional Counselor (additional 30+ graduate credits, see license verification of home page). 

I am devoted to working with a wide range of issues that can impact an individual or family’s well-being.  There are all kinds of issues that can erupt in a family!  As a teacher, school counselor, tutor, and therapist, I have worked with a good number of them.  Whether the family issue is your marriage, an infidelity (yours or your spouse’s), discipline, family time, sibling rivalry, teenage mood swings, alternative (G/L) families, loss of a spouse, or the impact of depression or anxiety on your family, I would consider it a privilege to work with you through your difficulties.

You are not alone.  We all have issues with which we must learn to cope and manage or from which we must recover, learn, & heal.  If you are a parent, then you will wonder and worry about making the right parenting decisions.  Ultimately, we all want our children to grow up to be purposeful, responsible, spiritual, and happy adults.  You are not alone.

I am here to help.  I like to help.  And I’m good at helping.  I will work with you first to understand and clarify the issues, second to determine practical strategies and choices, third to learn to hear and honor your inner voice, and fourth to implement your decisions and evaluate results.
