Is that the reason I have a substance abuse problem?

by Jef Gazley, M.S., LMFT

Treatment options and tips on how to stop alcohol and substance abuse

Substance and alcohol Abuse Mental Health Book Do you wonder if you have a substance abuse or suffer from alcohol abuse? When is "one more drink" one too many? Is yours an alcoholic family? What is the difference between drug abuse and alcoholism? This educational book describes how alcoholism and drug addiction starts and how the substance abuse cycle continues.

This educational book focuses on the enormous problem of alcoholism and drug addiction. The words chemical dependence, substance abuse, and drug abuse are really just different names dealing with the same syndrome. The devastation for the individual sufferer, the family, and society that results from this problem was the motivation for making this book for substance abuse treatment.

This mental health book, just like the other mental health books in this series, has been designed to appeal to individual clients or families, as well as the mental health clinician in the field who is interested in learning more about substance abuse and how to treat it effectively. This particular educational book discusses the chemical logic of alcohol addiction, as well as other addictive substances, and it also describes the tendency of many abusers to self-medicate for underlying psychological disorders. It clearly defines the differences and similarities of abuse and addiction. The book also discusses the effects on the family of having to live with an addict. By Jef Gazley, M.S., LMFT, DCC ©2008.

Each book in this series describes in detail a major psychological and behavioral problem suffered by a significant amount of people in the general population. The signs and symptoms of each disorder are delineated and solutions to those problems addressed.

This book is available in printed format, e-book (downloadable book), and audio book on CD, audio tape, and MP3.
