Claustrophobia is the fear of being in narrow or enclosed spaces. This fear can cause problems with someone who needs to ride an elevator, fly in an airplane, or just be in an enclosed space along with other people. It can be a crippling condition that leaves a person frustrated, embarrassed, and suffering from low self-esteem. Claustrophobia is a disorder that has elements of trauma associated with it and usually a biochemical component where both serotonin and GABA are depleted. The trauma aspect of claustrophobia is dealt with in two ways.
