FAQs

Q: How do I set up an internet counseling session?

A: Before proceeding to the scheduling page, it would be helpful to search through the online therapists or medical staff biographies to decide which clinician specializes in your area of concern, such as relationship advice, substance abuse or drug abuse, family counseling, marriage problems, career advice, alcoholism, medical questions, pet health questions, PTSD (or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), among others. All the staff have their own specialties and not everyone provides the same medium of service. Not everyone offers audiovisual or telephone counseling. When you have decided, go to the services page and select Online Counseling; then select your method of communication. Once you become a member, you can view and set appointment times that are listed and open for the particular staff member for your online therapy sessions.

For an e-therapy question you can go through the services page and choose e-mail therapy as your preferred medium. Any available appointment time will do. After paying you can send your e-mail therapy question immediately to the online counselor or clinician you selected. It is direct and simple! Please allow 24 to 48 hours for your counselor to reply.

Be prepared to share as many details as you can in the private message you send to your selected counselor; this will let us provide you with the best help possible.

Q: How do I begin an e-therapy session?

A: For all types of counseling sessions besides e-mail questions revisit the site 10 to 15 minutes before the agreed upon time. For chat/audio/video sessions your therapist will email you with a link to the Chat Area. For telephone sessions call the number that your online therapist gave you by e-mail. Ten minutes before the therapy session log on to whatever video program you and your therapist decided upon.

Q: What problems are appropriate for online therapy?

A: The online counselor can address just about any e-therapy problem or medical question. How to create a healthy relationship, low self-esteem issues, along with most other concerns are ideally suited for e-therapy. Our quality health care staff can discuss issues such as codependence, love addiction, chemical dependence, dysfunctional families, depression, anxiety, healthy relationships, and most medical questions. When and if the need requires more in-depth therapy, we will refer you to the appropriate sources, making this in itself a valuable service. Online counseling is not appropriate for people who are suicidal or suffering from a psychotic disorder or for those under 18 unless we receive a notarized parental consent for treatment.

Q: What are the costs for e-therapy sessions?

A: We have two separate prices for sessions. In general, Physicians costs are twice the rate of our Masters level therapists and other health care affiliates. E-mail questions are therefore $40 or $50 depending on the clinician you choose. All other mediums are set in 30 minute increments. However, you are not limited in any way and can order a session for as long as you desire. Audiovisual, telephone, and chat sessions are either $80 or $120 an hour depending on the type of clinician. Not all of our staff at present accept all mediums so be sure to check the professionals' biography.

Q: What types of e-therapy are there?

A: As far as mediums of communication via the world-wide-web we offer video, telephone, chat, and e-mail. The different issues covered by our online counselors and medical staff can range from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Abuse, Alcoholism, Family Issues, Relationship Problems, Marriage Problems, Career Coaching, Grief Help , Life Transition, Spiritual Guidance, Family Medicine,  Natural Medicine, and Alternative Medicine, among many others.

Q: Are there any other resources for self-help?
